JOHN MAYER ACCUSES KARDASHIANS OF STARTING DATING RUMORS: John Mayer claims Kourtney Kardashian’s family started the rumors about them dating. Mayer swears there has never been any sexual chemistry between him and Kourtney, despite speculation last year suggesting otherwise, and is convinced her famous relatives – including sister Kim Kardashian West and mother Kris Jenner – were behind the false gossip. Speaking on SiriusXM, John told his friend Andy Cohen: “Little suspicious about the origin of the story…not sure the call’s not coming from inside the house on this one. If the call is coming from inside the house…it’s diabolical and genius because when people start gossiping about you and someone else, and they start putting your pictures together, it gets real suggestive.” Tongues began to wag last year when an eyewitness claimed they saw John and Kourtney flirting at the GQ Men Of The Year party and overheard him saying it was “sweet serendipity running into you,” but John says he’d never say such a “corny” thing.
BRITNEY SPEARS JOINS ‘FREE BRITNEY’ MOVEMENT: Britney Spears has reportedly joined the social media movement that aims to free her from her conservatorship. The star told the judge on Friday that her father Jamie Spears committed her to a mental health facility against her will and forced her to take drugs, according to TMZ, which cited inside sources. Spears spent 30 days at an L.A. mental health facility after she stopped taking medication. The conservatorship has been operating for 11 years; a judge has not yet taken action, and is ordering an expert to evaluate Spears. Spears’ mother, Lynne, is echoing some her daughter’s apparent new concerns about the conservatorship and her treatment. Lynne is also trying to reestablish a relationship with her daughter after the two had been estranged for nearly 15 years. She has been staying with her daughter at her home, and attended Friday’s hearing after filing legal documents to gain access to Britney’s medical information.
‘AMERICAN IDOL’ RENEWED: American Idol has been renewed for a third season by ABC. This will actually be Idol’s 18th season after the show spent the first several seasons over at Fox. Reports say the network is looking to tighten funds for season three and this could happen in part for salary negotiations with judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. ABC has reportedly made offers to these three judges, but no word if they will accept. This season’s Grand Finale will air Sunday. Among the special performances will be Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Jay-Z, Dan + Shay, Kane Brown, Kool & the Gang, Weezer and performances from all three of the judges.
