DISNEY GAINS CONTROL OF HULU: The House of Mouse is gaining control of Hulu, effective immediately. Disney and Comcast announced the deal Monday; the deal puts a minimum future valuation on Hulu of $27.5 billion. “Hulu represents the best of television, with its incredible array of award-winning original content, rich library of popular series and movies, and live TV offerings,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in a statement. “We are now able to completely integrate Hulu into our direct-to-consumer business and leverage the full power of The Walt Disney Company’s brands and creative engines to make the service even more compelling and a greater value for consumers.”

TIFFANY HADDISH SIGNS ON FOR KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS: Tiffany Haddish is headed to ABC to host an unscripted show, Kids Say the Darndest Thing. The reboot will air on 8 p.m. Sundays in the fall. “When I was dreaming of stars I wanted to bring to ABC, Tiffany Haddish was top of my list,” said ABC entertainment president Karey Burke. “Tiffany starring in and producing this iconic series is everything I hoped for.”

NETFLIX SNAGS RIGHTS TO LOVE. WEDDING. REPEAT.: Netflix is adding another feature to its rom-com roster, with Dean Craig’s Love. Wedding. Repeat. Sam Claflin, Olivia Munn and Freida Pinto star in the movie, which is currently filming in Albany. 

DISNEY’S MALEFICIENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL TRAILER DROPS: In the new trailer for Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Angelina Jolie, in her scary witch regalia murmurs,  “This is no fairy tale.” The previous tale ended with a truce between the villainess and Elle Fanning’s Princess Aurora, but with the arrival of Michelle Pfeiffer’s Queen Ingrith, the peace is apparently dunzo. Maleficent: Mistress of Evil swoops into theaters on October 18.
