You ever get one of those sudden, inexplicable cravings from your past, one of those things you didn’t necessarily like so much when you were younger, and then years later, you miss it?

That’s what’s going on here for me. My old high school used to make no-bake cookies, and in retrospect they were pretty good – well, as much as I cared for them at the time, anyway. It took my late great-aunt Frieda to change my mind about no-bake cookies, just because they were so good. For me, it’s been a good few decades since I had them from the hand of the master, and so now I’m thinking in terms of “who might have a good recipe that will open up the cave of memory?”
